About Me

Hi, my name is Jennifer Nazha. I’m a Chicago native currently working as a News Writer for WGN-TV. I previously worked as a Multimedia Journalist/On-Air News, Sports and Feature Reporter at WGBA-TV (NBC26) in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
I shot, edited, reported, scripted and narrated live VOs,VO/SOTs, interviews and packages for the 5 & 6 a.m. and 5, 6, & 10 p.m. newscasts daily. I’ve covered a wide variety of stories ranging from hard news to sports including the kidnapping of Jayme Closs, Wisconsin’s 2018 Lame-Duck Session and the Green Bay Packers’ 2018 season. I also managed and created content for NBC26’s social media pages and website.
I graduated from DePaul University College of Communication in Chicago, where I majored in broadcast journalism and minored in communications and media. During my time there, I was involved in multiple media organizations like “Good Day DePaul,” “Radio DePaul” and “The DePaulia.”
I won a Crystal Pillar award in the sports category from The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Chicago Midwest Chapter for my long-form broadcast piece on women in sports journalism. I was also part of a team, which won a Peter Lisagor award for an investigative story about the funding of DePaul’s new Wintrust Arena. Most recently I was part of a newscast, which won a 2020 Regional Edward R. Murrow award from the Radio Television Digital News Association.
I also was one of the DePaul students selected for the Center for Journalism Integrity and Excellence. This center is directed by award-winning journalists, Carol Marin and Don Moseley. As part of my work there, I helped produce two investigative stories that ran on WTTW’s “Chicago Tonight” program.
In terms of internships, I’ve had two at WGN-TV in Chicago. On the first, I worked in news on the 4 & 5 p.m. newscasts, editing video for VOs, headlines, teases, and bumps. I also had several field producing opportunities. I later had a second internship in the sports department, covering post-game news conferences and doing interviews at Chicago Cubs, Blackhawks, and Bulls games. In addition, I covered the 2017 Cubs Convention in January, where I worked with WGN’s creative services team to produce a promo for their 70th anniversary with the Cubs.
I have extensive experience in both shooting and video editing, and have worked primarily as a one-person crew.
